In April 2003, RFD Ltd which was founded in 1920, part of Survitec Group of companies and Beaufort Air Sea Equipment Ltd merged to become the largest manufacturer and innovator in the field of Marine and Aerospace Safety and Survival Equipments.

RFD Ltd is positioned as the Commercial Marine and Leisure Division of the Survitec group, specialising in the design, development and manufacture of safety and survival equipment for the Commercial Marine and Leisure Marine markets.
